Terms and conditions.

Overview

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of James Hicks (the "Site"), our templates, and related digital products (the "Products"), and any custom work we produce for you (the "Services"). By purchasing, downloading, or otherwise using the Products or Services, you agree to these Terms.

We sell digital products — including Framer templates, code components, and related design files — delivered instantly and digitally. Please read these Terms carefully before purchasing.

1. Digital droducts and licensing

All Products are sold under license, not sold outright. Purchasing a Product grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the files for your own commercial or client design work, subject to the licensing tier you purchase:

  • Free License — Single-domain use, with limited email support.

  • Single License — Single-domain use, with lifetime updates and priority email and short video clip support.

  • Multi License — Multi-domain use, with lifetime updates and priority email and short video clip support.

All licences cover use for personal, commercial, or client sites. You are responsible for selecting the licence tier that matches how the Products will be used. Using a Product beyond the scope of your purchased tier requires upgrading to the appropriate licence.

2. Permitted use

Under a valid licence, you may:

  • Edit and customise the Products for your own site or your clients' sites.

  • Use the resulting published sites and pages in client deliverables, marketing, and pitch presentations.

  • Deliver finished, published work (not the original source/template files) to your own clients as part of your design work.

3. Prohibited use

Regardless of licence tier, you may not:

  • Resell, redistribute, sublicense, or share the original Product files, in whole or in part, as stock assets, templates, or components.

  • Claim authorship or ownership of the underlying design itself.

  • Use the Products to create a competing template or component library for resale.

  • Share your account or licensed files with individuals or organizations not covered by your purchased licence tier.

4. Custom and bespoke work

For bespoke template or site-build commissions, the scope, timeline, number of revisions, and licensing terms will be confirmed in writing before work begins. Unless otherwise agreed, custom work is licensed to the commissioning client only and may not be resold as a general-purpose template.

5. Payment and delivery

Products are delivered digitally and instantly upon successful payment, typically as a Framer Remix Link. No physical goods are shipped. It is your responsibility to ensure you have access to software capable of opening and using the delivered files.

Because Products are delivered instantly and can be downloaded, copied, and reused the moment access is granted, the product is considered delivered as soon as access is provided.

6. Refunds

All sales are final. Once any part of a Product has been delivered or accessed, we do not offer refunds — regardless of whether the product was used, published, or left unopened. This is standard practice for instantly delivered digital goods.

When a refund may be granted

We'll review refund requests in only two situations:

  1. Duplicate purchase — You accidentally bought the same license twice.

  2. Verified technical issue — A genuine fault prevents the product from working as described, you've reached out to support, and we're unable to resolve it. Documented evidence (screenshots, error messages) will be required.

Refund requests must be submitted within 8 days of purchase. Approved refunds are typically processed within 5–10 business days.

What isn't covered

Refunds won't be issued for:

  • A change of mind or personal preference

  • Not having the skills or experience to customise the template

  • Subjective dissatisfaction or differences in aesthetic taste

  • Incompatibility with third-party tools, platforms, or workflows outside Framer

  • Project-specific requirements that weren't confirmed before purchase

Need help first?

Most issues can be solved without a refund. Before requesting one, reach out through our support form.

7. Intellectual property

All Products and templates remain the intellectual property of James Hicks. Your licence grants usage rights only, as described above, and does not transfer ownership of the underlying files or designs.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

Products and Services are provided "as is." We do not guarantee that the Products will be error-free, uninterrupted, or suitable for every use case. You are responsible for reviewing your finished site or output before delivering it to your own clients.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, James Hicks is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Products or Services, including lost profits or client disputes arising from your own deliverables.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Products or Services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
